I don’t understand why you call this a weird sport. I know plenty of people who participate in dragon boating. Competitions can span entire weekends in Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, and Vancouver, BC. It is a very competitive sport. It’s certainly less weird than cheese rolling, which has taken place for over 200 yrs in England. And dragon boating has been around for more than 2000 yrs!
